1. Do you build shopping carts (e-commerce systems)?
Not at this stage and not likely to be on the horizon anytime soon. Online payments (especially credit card processing), catalogues, email marketing and order management systems is not our thing.
PS – if you’re after a good shopping cart professional then Jason Chipperfield from Refresh is very highly skilled and experienced in this area.
2. What sort of work do you specialise in?
Clean, well presented, easy-to-use small business websites that get found on Google (in conjunction with a search engine optimisation campaign) and you can update yourself. Very well suited to businesses that:
- Are established (3 years +) with 5 or more staff
- Already use traditional marketing/advertising such as: newspaper, yellow pages directory (online and print) etc and either want to “extend” the reach of those campaigns or alternatively reduce the expenditure and generate leads online instead (not always, but often our clients have found getting ranked on search engines yields better ROI and lower lead acquisition cost than print, directories, yellow pages etc)
- Operate from a premises (not home based)
- Have an “entrepreneurial” mindset and see the website as a “lead-generation” mechanism, or marketing tool, to increase business profits – rather than an “arty” decoration with lot’s of useless widgets to have “just cause it’s cool”
- Want a website that “works” to actually make sales for your business – usually we would not build a website unless you understand the importance of getting ranked on Search Engines – if you don’t, contact us here and we’ll be happy to explain it to you
3. All your websites kind of look the same? Will mine be customised to suit the look and feel of my business?
Yes they do follow a similar format and your site visitors will love them. Talk to us and we’ll explain why in more detail. This format is proving to be very effective and the design structure is based on some of the most brilliant thinkers in the online marketing world today. We don’t take any credit for it, only that we’ve observed what works and have tested the principles on many sites – and simply “copied” what they do.
Feel comfortable that your new website will be professionally customised to work in unison with your existing marketing materials (i.e. brochures, cards, advertising and signage). Consistency across your marketing materials helps your customers and prospects to to “recognise” who you are, build trust and feel more comfortable with approaching you.
PS – we’ve not had any complaints so far with the look of our websites. If you’ve got a decent corporate ID in place already, we’ll work off that with no problems. If not, a graphic artist will get you looking ship-shape and we can then work off that.
4. Why don’t you give prices?
Because we don’t know what you want. Until we talk, and get an idea of what you’re trying to achieve, how could we possibly give an accurate estimate? Websites we build are usually part of a package: they’re designed in conjunction with a search engine ranking campaign, which if done correctly, will help you get enquiries from the web.
5. Are there any ongoing costs?
Yes. Whenever you’re running a website there are always going to be ongoing costs. Your website will be available to your customers via reliable, Australian-based hosting/support on a state-of-the-art system . Generous space and web traffic allowances will cater for most small business needs. Business email addresses are included and you’re kept informed of your website progress with monthly reporting. Prices are determined by how many email addresses you require, how much disk space the website will take up, how much traffic the site is expected to get etc – contact us and we’ll work out the details.
6. What if I don’t have a logo?
Don’t sweat it. Sure you’re going to need one if you’re serious about your business, but believe it or not, an award-winning logo is not essential to get results from a website (RANKING + Good quality content is!). We’ll show you what the all-important ingredients to a successful website are, and help get you up and running in the meantime. Later, if you want to get your graphic designer to whip up a logo/colour scheme or other graphics for you, we can quickly and easily integrate them into your website for minimal cost.
