Best Brisbane Business & Marketing Events In 2017

OK so this isn’t going to be a timeless/evergreen post - but one that as a entrepreneur or even a SEO professional operating in Brisbane, will be an important one for 2017.

If you’ve been around Websites That Sell, my Youtube Channel my mailing list or this blog for any amount of time - you’d know I’m a big believer in education and self development.

I myself attend conferences and purchase self help books regularly - because you know what… I’m confident enough to admit that I’m not always the smartest cookie in the room.

When it comes to SEO -  I’m part of and actively learn (and contribute) to some of the smartest SEO masterminds around the world (hence we're one of the top SEO companies in Brisbane)

Additionally I continuously surround myself with bigger people than myself whom I can learn from and that can take me to higher levels to where I operate now.

But that’s a whole different story which we'll save for another post...

What I wanted to discuss today is some of the most important events to keep an eye out for and if possible get along to in 2017, to further yourself, your mindset and your business success.

These are the events that I know will have the power to change your business (whether you’re into SEO or not) in 2017.

So without any further adieu here’s the list of what I think will be:

Noteworthy Events & Conferences For Business Owners And Entrepreneurs In Brisbane For 2017

1) Learn How To Grow Your Business With Qualified Referrals - BNI ELITE

bni-brisbane

Date: 13th January, 2017
Time: 6:45am - 8:30am

Location:
Links Hope Island Golf Club
Hope Island Rd
Hope Island, QLD 4212

I’ve been to several BNI breakfasts.

Some have helped some haven’t… so here’s my take on this event.

I definitely think there is validity in joining a BNI chapter - but it depends on your business. If your time is better spent on a profitable marketing avenue then I wouldn’t waste my time on an event like this.

Typically you’ll meet well established small business owners that might do alright (which in my books means they aren’t going broke, their business has been around for a while and they are turning a profit but definitely not millions)

This is just from my experience - always happy to be corrected 🙂

Secondly, you’ll also get the hungry start-up crowd.

Those who have no idea about business and marketing, but have been told to attend this event as they’ll get lots of referrals.

And again I'm not here to judge, just to help you make a good decision of your time in 2017.

So this is definitely not a bad thing.

If you’re just starting up and looking to get established locally - and network with other business owners at this level, then this is the perfect event for you.

2) Phil Hesketh - The New Rules Of Selling.

newrulesofselling

Date: Tue. 31 January,2017
Time: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm AEST

Location:
The Ship Inn
Stanley Street
South Brisbane, QLD 4101

When anyone talks about sales - I listen and take notes.

NEVER be too smart for the room when it comes to sales.

Make no mistake - the lifeblood of your business depends on selling.

In one way on another, you are ALWAYS selling (if you want to be successful that is).

So you might as well get used to it.

No, it’s not a dirty habit - it’s actually a beautiful thing when you have a great business and are able to add value to people.

Even if you’re ranking on the first page via SEO - the money is in you actually closing that traffic.

So if your page isn’t converting or if you can’t sell on the phone - maybe just maybe... this is a good event for you to get along to in 2017.

3) Living The Dream Weekend - Pat Mesiti HQ

Pat and I go back a long way and one thing that he does better than any other person here in Australia is getting people to raise their level of thinking.

Pat is all about shifting your mindset and he does it well.

In the early days of my career, I wrote the sales letters and marketing material for this very event - we packed the event out so much they needed to bring extra steps.

So while I’ve got an emotional attachment to this event I also know that it’s one of the best events Pat puts on annually and it’s the one that helps business owners the most when it comes to breaking through in your thinking.

And here’s the thing.

Every aspect of your success will depend on your level of dreaming and believing in yourself.

If you have a broke mindset… you’re going to be living a broke business lifestyle.

OK.

I could rant on all day… but if you need to fix your headspace - this is the event to attend in 2017.

4) Explode Your Sales - Marketing Event: John Dwyer

explodeyoursalesliveevent

Again - John and I go back a long way. I’ve regularly shared the stage with John at marketing events around Australia and have even taught his tribe about websites and SEO at his own events.

This event is a must if you want to implement street-savvy promotions in your business.

Just looking at some of John’s previous marketing coups you’ll be able to tell that this guy thinks outside the box - AND GETS PEOPLE’S ATTENTION!

If you’re marketing sucks and needs a desperate makeover this is the event you need to be at in 2017.

John regularly holds his Explode Your Sales workshops all around the country and Brisbane is always on his list.

This event gets my highest recommendations and you can learn more about it here:

5) Executive Lunch: Brisbane

More details here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/executive-lunch-brisbane-tickets-26460135979

Location:

Regatta Hotel 'Henley Room'
543 Coronation Drive
Toowong, QLD 4066

Ok so this one is not for everyone… fact is you’ve got to be turning over at least 2M a year to qualify.

What this means is that I highly recommend going to this event (if you qualify).

That’s because you’ll rub shoulders with the true players in the business.

Not just your mum and pop shops, your internet startups or “feel good” “wanna be” entrepreneurs.

You'll meet serious company owners who are building profitable businesses and actually want to spend money to grow their business.

So I’d be attending on two levels.

1) How can you network with these business owners - who are your ideal prospect at this event.

2) Get inside these guys' minds, how do they make decisions, what’s there thought processes and what got them to where they are now.

6) Pete Godfrey Live

businessconference

Now this will happen without notice - so there are no dates set but Pete ALWAYS pulls something out of the bag for Aussie business owners and he never misses Brisbane when on tour.

So what do you get with Pete?

Sales, Copywriting & Mindset.

If you need a quick promotion to pull in the cash FAST - Pete will reveal how to do it.

If you need to write money-making emails - you’ll get access to Pete’s proven swipe files.

If you want to know how to put together a million-dollar promotion from A-Z… Pete’s not only pulled off several before but will show you step by step how everything is executed.

His events are perfect for one-man band entrepreneurs, small business owners and large firms alike.

Ask to join his Persuasion Show Private Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PeteGodfreyShow

He teaches great stuff in there on a weekly basis, but you’ll also hear about any upcoming events he’ll host in Brisbane in 2017.

And what's even better... I chime in now and then as well 😉

Alright, so that’s my list so far.

This list isn’t just events I randomly pulled out of my backside.

These are all events I’ve previously attended, promoters who I know and trust or Brisbane conferences I personally aim to attend in 2017.

With all the clutter out there and the amount of crap, people are trying to pitch all day long on Facebook... I just thought I'd put together a quick guide on Brizzy events that are of value 😉

I hope this will be a good resource of conferences and workshops that will actually give you an ROI in 2017.
